More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have had two nanny positions (one for a summer in between college years and the other was my first job right out of college). I have worked at day care centers as either an infant teacher, toddler teacher, preschool teacher, Lead Infant Teacher for about 20 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Indoors I love to provide age appropriate play whether it’s doing puzzles, playing games (not video games), building something, arts and crafts, singing, writing for example let’s make up a story and write it down.
Outside it’s great to play in the back yard, swim in the pool if you have one, go for a walk, look around together in nature to collect items for a project (leaves, rocks, acorns etc), throw a ball, help you ride a bike, or even have a picnic on the back patio on a beautiful summer’s day.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part is open, honest and consistent communication with the parents. It’s about sharing expectations, being able to be honest if anything didn’t go as planned, asking questions to make sure I am doing well, to make sure everything is comfortable for the family. And of course, to love and take care of the children well. I enjoy being a team player and making your life successful and less stressful.
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have experience with children that have special needs however I have had a lot of experience with adults with special needs. I have worked with seniors that have dementia, strokes, were blind…for ten years now.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny experience was taking care of a 20 month old girl during a summer break from college. It was a great job to really build my confidence and experience as the only one in the house once the parents went off to work. I worked full time that summer and learned so much. I’m very grateful!
