The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the children and their families. Creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel loved, understood, and supported is key to their emotional and developmental growth. It’s not just about supervising and taking care of their needs, but also about connecting with them on a deeper level, understanding their individual personalities, and being a consistent, reliable presence in their lives. This bond fosters a sense of security, helping them feel comfortable exploring new things, learning, and developing key life skills. Ultimately, it’s about being a positive role model, providing care that feels like an extension of the family, and contributing to the child’s well-being and happiness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when I was caring for a 2-year-old boy. We spent the afternoon doing a simple craft project, making colorful handprint art. As we painted his hands, he giggled and showed me his painted palms, excited to see the colorful mess he’d created. After finishing the artwork, we proudly hung it on the wall. The next day, when his parents came home, he ran to them, pointing at the artwork and excitedly saying, “Look what I made!” The pride in his face and the joy in his parents’ eyes was priceless. It was a beautiful reminder of how small moments of creativity and connection can create lasting memories for both the child and their family. It’s moments like these that make nannying such a rewarding experience.
