Being outdoors is one of the things I love most, along with writing poetry, painting, reading and running. I am compassionate, organized and able to adapt and respond to any situation. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Growing up, I helped my mother care for my two younger twin brothers. I assisted in changing diapers, preparing meals, and watching them when needed. I was then hired to care for children by neighbors, and referred to others. My duties included scheduling and planning summer/after-school activities, preparing meals, light housekeeping, driving children to and from various activities, taking children for walks/hikes etc. My passion for childcare continued through college when I decided to major and study Early Childhood Education! Each semester, I was placed in schools across Philadelphia with different age groups, I worked with children aged 3 - 16. Once I graduated, I wanted to pursue a career in education and was hired as a fourth grade teacher in 2019 and taught until the end of the 2021 school year when I decided to move to New York.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and crafts! I love getting out some paint, construction paper, colorful pipe cleaners and seeing what creative things children can work up. I also love going for walks, playing in parks, and going to zoos, aquariums and museums.

My experience with special needs children...

I have taught students with moderate to severe learning and behavioral concerns - diagnosed and undiagnosed. When working with these students I was able to adapt lesson plans and activities to accommodate their specific needs.
