More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently work with a developmental program specialized in working with children with special needs. For the past year of working with the company, I have worked one on one with children ages 5-16. But I have spent the most time working with the 10-13 age range. Prior to working with this company, I worked in home for a year and a half with a toddler with a disability. I have mostly worked with moderate to severe cases. My main focus while completing my degree in Psychological Science was in developmental psychology.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing activities with children that benefit their cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development. I am open to doing both indoor and or outdoor activities with children. I also really enjoy helping them learn, whether it be educational, emotional, or personal.
My experience with special needs children...
I have the most experience with children with moderate to severe disabilities and needs. I have 1 1/2 years of experience with a toddler with cerebral palsy who needed around the clock care and attention. I worked in home with them on their development and behavior. They also have a stoma, which I would change, dress, and care for, as well as feed them through. I have 1 1/2 years of experience with middle school children with mod-severe Autism, OCD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, etc. I worked in school with them on academics, behavior, and development.
