"My husband and I are very selective on who we welcome into our home to be with our children. From within a few minutes of meeting Sarah, I felt at ease with her. She’s patient, kind and very attentive to my three children. I love that she asked about our parenting style so that she could maintain that while we were away. The last time she came over, our kiddos barely looked up when my husband and I were leaving. They LOVE her, which is the most important part for us! She’s the best!"

"Sarah is our sons Aunt. She has helped care for him since he was born. She goes out of her way to make sure he is getting proper care while we work. He is autistic spectrum with severe behavior and adhd diagnosis and she has done well accommodating his needs with patience. As needed she cares for him overnight and has facilitated doctor appointments as well. Would recommend not because I’m related but because she loves kids and cares for them as her own."

"Sarah was AMAZING with my little guy. He was about 1 month old when she started helping with babysitting, and she knew how to soothe him, and care for him with whatever he needed. I never worried once when he was with her! She was kind, gentle, and so sweet with both our son, and us!"

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Prior: Nannying Wednesday and Thursdays a 4 month old girl, Monday Tuesdays a 5 month old boy, Fridays a 2 year old girl while potty training.

Nannied for two families. One was a set of twins, aged 15 months as well as an infant aged 3 months. At night I babysat a 3, 6 and 8 year old for a wonderful family. We spent the evening having dinner, going on bike rides, and playing just about every game in the closet.

Pre-Covid:
Nannied 3 girls, aged 4, 8, 14. School drop offs/pick ups, attended the house with the youngest during the day.

Site coordinator at Lincoln County’s after school for elementary. We used a STEM model and focused on the “super readers” program.

Head teacher (10mo- -3 year olds) at a learning center who rotated in the 0-9 month room as well. Followed a “creative curriculum”.

Nannied/ homeschooled a special needs 2nd grader during pandemic.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Since I had to lesson plan for the early learning center, I know a lot of creative activities that encourage growth but are still fun!
Playing outside, singing together, craft projects, reading, and going to the park are a few things I enjoy with kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Respecting the needs and values of the family and their parenting style.

My experience with special needs children...

[phone number hidden] I nannied and homeschooled a 7 year old second grade boy who is autistic. I have also taken coursework at my college for special education.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The day to day joys of seeing children grow as people

For the greater half of my high school experience, I spent a lot of time babysitting and witnessing the growth of many kids. I am a patient, creative caregiver who thrives on making a positive impact on the lives of the children I support. Whether we are playing outdoor sports, solving puzzles, or engaging in educational games, I prioritize fun and learning. I hold CPR Training and First Aid Training certifications to ensure your children remain safe. Since I am a skilled swimmer, I am happy to provide swimming supervision during outings. I am comfortable caring for up to three children across all age groups and am happy to assist with meal preparation, carpooling, and light housekeeping. I follow your lead regarding household rules and maintain open communication through your preferred method. I look forward to becoming a reliable partner in your family's daily life and helping your children wherever I can!
Amalia D. - Seeking Work in Eugene

Babysitter Available in Eugene, OR: Amalia D.

Hi! My name is Amalia, and I’m a student at the University of Oregon studying Family and Human Services. I have been babysitting for local families since 2020 and have also worked as a full-time nanny for the past three summers. I have experience caring for children of different ages and love creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for them.

I’ve always enjoyed working with kids! I have coached young children through Lil’ Kickers and elementary girls’ soccer, volunteered as a Unified Basketball coach, and completed an elementary school internship where I helped a teacher and worked directly with students in the classroom.

I would describe myself as responsible, patient, caring, organized, and dependable. I’m comfortable helping with meals, activities, bedtime routines, homework, and keeping kids entertained. I really enjoy building relationships with the families I work with and want parents to feel confident knowing their kids are in good hands!
