A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Sarah and I currently am enrolled at UNCA for a major in Art and a minor in Psychology. Growing up I started babysitting at the age of 14 and continued working as a babysitter until I was 18 with a few different families. My mother was a nanny as well so I would assist her sometimes with the children she would be caring for. I have been working in the service industry for about 12 years now and looking to try something else while I am in school. I am 30 years old and have always loved children. My experience is not current, but my emotional intelligence is so much more now that I am older. I enjoy doing chores like errands, house cleaning, making meals, etc. I recently just took a course on human development and that taught me so much about children and what they need as they grow older. My style of nannying is similar to the Montessori method of education; developing and learning at your choice, on your own time. I don’t believe in forcing children to learn, eat, nap, play, read, etc. if I can understand that those activities aren’t wanted at the moment. I believe children grow best when they have their own interest to grow.
