I’m a mother myself to a 4 month old boy :). I have volunteered with best buddies through my brother who was a part of the program! And I nannied and babysat before becoming a mother myself!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing puzzles, coloring and different types of arts and crafts like making bracelets, going to a zoo or aquarium, kicking around a soccer ball, and going for walks. With babies I love the kick and play mat and helping my son learn to roll. We do lots of tummy time and finding new ways to make him laugh!
The most important part about being a nanny...
It is most important to me that the kids feel comfortable and are happy and that the whole family feels as though I blend right in. It’s a huge responsibility to care for children and not one I take lightly.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for my brother who has cerebral palsy. He is handicap and walks with a walker so he needs help physically. Through caring for him I have learned patience and have empathy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment would be driving to after school activities with the kids and hearing all about their day. I also love managing play dates and coming up with fun activities like scavenger hunts and if it’s a nice day a fun obstacle course or soccer game!
