More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first real job in childcare was at a corporate daycare in the two's room with a 12 to 1 ratio, 30 minutes of outside time a day, and no janitor. My body hurt, my brain hurt, I was underappreciated, underpaid, and out of my depths, and I loved it. Coexisting with these kids, being the eye of the storm, a peaceful place for them to exist, it made it all worth it to me. I stayed there for two years, and then I moved to my current job. I've been a teacher to every age from 0-12 years at some point, but most of my time has been with the 2-4s. When a kid who had been my student for two years left my school, they asked me to be his babysitter. He ultimately came to my school, and I would regularly drive him and his older brother home from school until he graduated to kinder. I am the two's teacher at my preschool, and am so appreciative of the support I have to connect with the kids one on one, and the opportunity I was given this past April to attend the CAAEYC conference in Santa Clara.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love cooking with children. It inspires so much independence, care for community, care for self, self awareness and regulation, and creative and sensory enjoyment. It practices math skills, fine motor skills, language skills, safety, etcetera. I also love the opportunity it provides to implement eating disorder prevention. And such yummy outcomes 🥰
The most important part about being a nanny...
My pedagogy reflects a deep love and respect for play-based learning. I appreciate the most about working with kids the opportunity to get on their level, understand where they're coming from, and help them practice skills that build the foundation for an emotionally fulfilled life and a kind and empathetic outlook on life and community.

Most of my experience with disabled and neurodivergent children is with children who are on the ADHD and/or autism spectrums.
