More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at my local church Sunday school, helping to look after kids ages 5 - 7.

I was a local Aupair for a 14 year old girl until she was 17, making sure she gets home safe, does homework/studying and take her to appointments.

I was a English and basic fundamental math tutor for kids between 4 - 10, helping with English comprehension, reading, grammar & phonics.

3 Years ago I moved to the USA to become an Aupair, my first year I worked with a teen(14) and a girl with FAS (8)(Special needs) & my second year, a pre-teen (10) and a girl with Autism (5).

Last year, I was a full time Nanny for a baby (1) and his sister (10).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going on walks in the stroller/wagon and playing outside looking for leaves and flowers or playing ball.

My favorite craft activity is painting and coloring and I love reading books to kids.

Being silly and finding joy in everyday things by playing chase around the couch or hide and seek.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters the most to me is building a trustworthy relationship with the kids and the parents. By engaging and giving feedback, being silly and comfortable. It creates a stable environment and makes the flow of tasks/activities so much easier when everyone is comfortable with each other.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a child (7) with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) for 1 year. I accompanied her therapy sessions and tried to engage in a lot of outdoor playtime for stimulation. I helped her focus on controlling her emotions and tutoring her in with English reading and grammar as well as basic math.

I also worked with a child who has Autism (5) and is mute. I also accompanied her with her therapy sessions and my main focus was to just help engage and play with her doing activities like puzzle/block/stick building and outdoor activities like swimming.
