A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Savannah. I’m a 30-year-old childcare professional with 6 years of experience in a daycare setting. I am CPR/First Aid certified and truly love being a part of a child’s growth. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a child build confidence, hit developmental milestones, and explore their world.
I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and highly observant. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. I bring an energetic and imaginative style to my work—I love creating fun, engaging activities that keep children curious and learning.
Why I’m a great fit for busy homes:
• Animal Lover: With 5 dogs, 2 cats, and a parrot of my own, I am incredibly comfortable in multi-pet households!
• Professional Background: My daycare experience means I’m used to structure, safety protocols, and age-appropriate transitions.
I’m passionate about making a positive impact and would love to support your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been in a daycare setting for the past 6 years, on top of also caring for caring within my family and friends

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I love doing with children:
• Art & Creativity: Finger painting, drawing, and Disney-inspired crafts.
• Reading & Literacy: Interactive storytime to build language skills.
• Sensory Play: Hands-on "science labs," kinetic sand, and water play.
• Fine Motor Skills: Beading, playdough, and age-appropriate puzzles.
• Gross Motor Skills: Indoor obstacle courses and nature scavenger hunts.
• Basic Sign Language: Teaching simple signs to help with communication.
• Animal Care: Gentle play and learning empathy through pet interaction.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny or even a caretaker is being a Master of Multi-Tasking. In one moment, I am a professional focused on fine motor milestones and CPR safety; in the next, I am an imaginative explorer navigating a "lava" carpet with a toddler. It’s about having the technical skills to manage a schedule, while also having the empathy to handle the "tragedy" of a broken cracker with genuine care.
Ultimately, it’s about being a reliable, calming presence who can guide a child through their day—making everything from developmental learning to "getting ready for school" feel like a positive, shared adventure.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have hands on care with special needs children but I do volunteer for special Olympics of Rhode Island and I’m more than willing to learn anything I need to know

The most important part about being a nanny...

I currently work in a daycare setting, and while there are plenty of sweet moments, the funniest ones usually involve a total lack of situational awareness!
I was helping feed a group of toddlers and stood up for just a second to lean over the table and reach something. Unbeknownst to me, one of my tiniest 'assistants' decided that my chair was better suited for the other side of the room.
Without looking, I went to sit back down with full confidence... and ended up flat on the floor. The look of pure, innocent confusion on her face while I was sitting there on the linoleum was priceless. I definitely learned my lesson: Always check for your chair before you commit!
