More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked in Early Childhood Education for the last 12 years. I worked at Gretchen's House with ages between 0 and 5th grade. I also have experience taking care of my own daughter who is differently abled.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading and playing with children. I used the HighScope curriculum at the child care facility that I worked at which is a child led curriculum where I focused on their interest to help them learn. I enjoy spending lots of time outside searching for worms and bugs with children and also exploring in mud puddles and other sensory activities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a manny is just treating the child as a person. Throughout my years I have seen many ECE that treat young children like babies and I believe that you build the best relationship when you remember that it doesn't matter how young a child is, they are a person.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with autism. Also, my daughter requires constant care as she is unable to care for herself. She has a feeding tube and an ostomy bag.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have never worked as a nanny (I would be a manny :), but I have lots of great memories throughout my 12 years of working with young children. Honestly my favorite moments are just sitting and talking/playing with children.
