I worked for the San Mateo/Foster City school district for 9 years at Stonebrae Elementary School. Started as a para-educator, assisting the Lead teacher before she retired. Took over when she left.

My experience with special needs children...
I do have a couple of close relatives that that have autism, one of of them is gets seizures. The experience taught me how to handle the situation and never panic. Besides autistic people, I have worked with neglected, abandoned, foster kids.
Unfortunately quite a a number of people with those experience’s tend to push others away for fear of getting hurt somehow. Getting their trust is truly a challenge that I’m always ready to take!
