I was a religious education teacher during the school years of [phone number hidden]. I led classrooms of about 10 kids ages 10-12 at the Visitation Parish. I have babysat for the past 3 years with kids ages 1-10. I also participated in a leadership program through YMCA Camp Tecumseh during the summer of 2021 where I completed volunteer activities and worked on planning/running activities for the children at camp.

I love spending time dancing, doing arts & crafts and playing board games, but when the weather permits I enjoy going on walks/bike rides, swimming, and going to the park. I also find one of the most engaging things to do with children is to create games based on their interests that cater towards their creative/imaginative side.

I think the most important part about becoming a nanny is leaving a lasting impact. I had teachers, babysitters and adults in my life as a kid that I still reach out to and think about. Kids are so impressionable and teaching them that they are capable, loved and worthy is such a key part of spending your time with them.

I remember when I returned home from camp last summer, I was so excited to see one of the boys I babysit again. I walked in the door and was met with the same excitement. Getting to see him after spending a couple weeks away and being able to share my experiences at camp with him was very memorable. I had made a video of my time at camp and shared it with him. To this day he still loves to watch the video on my phone and listen to the stories I have from camp. It’s really cool to be able to share pieces of your life with kids and form those types of bonds.
