More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been helping out families since 2016. I started out with toddlers and grade-schoolers. Overtime I began having more opportunities with teenagers and more often than not, infants. Each family had their own set of challenges. Thankfully I learned new skills and better techniques. Personally, I believe that I'm not the only one gain something from this experience together. Whether from the parents or the children, I am happy to grow alongside them. And I can't wait for my chance to be apart of that in others lives as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Board and card games are one of my favorite pass-times with the older children. Going out on walks or visiting the park is always fun for us. Some fun sing-alongs, and a book or two. But if I absolutely had to chose, I got to stick with the classic, Hide and Seek. There's so much children can enjoy and I'd love to learn about each child's needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most as a nanny isn't just ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those under my care. It's also making sure to encourage and support children so they can grow into their own potential and continue to grow even when I'm not around.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with a brother with learning and speak disabilities. He also has many health issues I continue to worry about everyday. Throughout my life, I've been around a variety of people and I understand not every case is the same. Each person will have a better coping method. Sometimes it may be professional and others not. What's best will be specific for that individual, and I'm ready to offer my support.

The most important part about being a nanny...

By far my favorite moment has been with a younger child who was quite shy. When he first called me by my name he was unable to pronounce it and instead calls me Santa. Can't say I mind, it's very sweet. It wasn't until recently I've hear him pronounce my name as Shannon. To say I'm overjoyed would be a massive understatement.
