Hi! My name is Sharia, I am 20 years old and I adore working with kids. I previously taught swim lessons for kids ages 3-10 and worked at a childcare facility in both the infant and toddler room. My mother has been a childcare teacher my whole life so I grew up helping around the daycare! I love music and cooking, and i'm very big on hands on learning.I am absolutely not a screen time nanny, I think getting our hands dirty outside and helping me mix a batch of cookies, or calm sensory projects are so important to early childhood development and giving children the best possible tools as they grow - as well as a safe and loving place to do so.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love cooking and think it is important to make sure kids have a healthy relationship with food early on, so I am all for having kids help in the kitchen. I love turning on music and having a dance party, or sitting and playing quietly - whatever is more comfortable for the child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that making sure kids feel comfortable and have a safe space is the most important thing. Without a safe space they are not able to grow or make connections with themselves or others as easily. What works for one kid will not work for another so flexibility and empathy for each individual child's needs is huge.

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest brother is on the autism spectrum, so I have a lot of personal experience with handling these needs. I do not see disabilities as negative, some children just require different care and attention than others!
