A little bit about me

Hi there,
My name is Shauna and I consider myself to be a caring, patient, fun, knowledgeable, adaptive and professional nanny. I’m also a mother to four children of my own (three boys and one girl whom are [phone number hidden] years old). Childcare has been my passion for over 25 years and continues to bring so much joy to life.
I was previously an EEC certified infant through Kindergarten teacher and childcare provider. After several years of working with all ages, I became an assistant to the director and the owner of the Childcare Center in Boston, Ma. Among other tasks, I would over see classrooms, Teachers and children, aging from 8 weeks-kindergarten. After taking time off to be a stay at home parent, I returned to the work force as a newborn night nanny & a private nanny. I have worked for several families as a newborn night nanny, while finding one of my forever families. As he spends more time in school, I have extra time I’d love to fill & new families to connect with.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Too many to count! I believe in real, and kind human interaction, from playing on the floor with an infant, to reading books, to playing in the mud with the child/baby, to fresh air and walks, sunshine, nature, running, going on great adventures to find discoveries and even playing in the rain on a nice summer or spring day! I have a lot of background in center based childcare, so I find the best toys are the ones children can use their imagination and discovery with-blocks, sensory play, creating art, manipulative toys and Montessori based play.

The most important part about being a Nanny is being able to connect, nurture and care for little ones, helping them grow and develop, while becoming an extension of their family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would be when I was driving down the street with the little one I was nannying for and having the little one see his dad (in a fire truck) pass by. The boy waved hello and proceeded to yell to him “ see you later”. He was genuinely happy to be in my care and knowing he didn’t want to run from me, but always to me, made my heart fill with joy.
