Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 10+ years as a Early Childhood Education teacher working for Head Start and State funded programs that included infants,toddlers, preschool and school age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing puzzles, playdough, art,memory cards, sensory activities, tummy time with infants, music and singing with all ages, role playing(dress up), lots of water play in summer (depending on age of child/children). I have a deep love of reading books to children too. Going to the park to play or riding in the stroller, learning about the outside world. Observing to learn what interests the child has and following their lead.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is that parents and myself establish a relationship that is of mutual respect, openly communicating with each other. Through years of experience, I understand the trust that parents must have in the person who cares for their child. You have to love the job that your hired to do. Being on time, dependable. To become familiar with the daily schedule/routine and any allergies. Talk and read, engage the child in learning new words and conversational turn taking. Being read to will instill the love of books even as young as infants. Creating activities, depending on age for the day. Following any instructions the parents may have.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a son that was diagnosed at age 5 with ADHD. I have also had many children throughout my teaching years who have had mild autism, speech delays and ADHD.
