I’ve had professional babysitting jobs since I was 15. My last professional job was caring for a young girl with special needs for 2 years. I’ve also cared after babies as young as newborns. My experience ranges working with kids from newborns to early teen years!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Somethings that I really care about are reliability, flexibility, and understanding. I understand that every person’s different and life throws many curveballs so I don’t like to keep such a strict schedule for myself. Punctuality is of course very important to me and I will always be reliable to the schedules we set up. I don’t mind though, adjusting my schedule when necessary to accommodate you when you need me an extra day or even switch a out a working day for a day I wouldn’t normally work every so often. I appreciate someone who shares an easy going viewpoint on life with me so we can work with one another to find the right schedule :)
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve cared for children with physical and developmental delays. My last job, I was caring for a 20 year old girl who was developmentally around age 3. She couldn’t always get the correct words to form when she needed something but we always worked together to figure out what she was needing. I’m comfortable working with children with all sort of special needs and am experienced working with children with different types of speech delays as well!
