More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked with children in many roles over the past 10+ years. As a teacher’s aide in the summer youth program I supported classrooms and encouraged learning by guiding fun activities that built teamwork. Volunteering gave me chances to create safe, joyful spaces, while being a Girl Scouts troop leader let me inspire confidence and creativity. Each role shaped how I nurture children today finding growth in patience, encouragement, and a genuine love for their growth.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging children in explorative play, where every activity becomes an adventure. From building blanket forts to nature walks or creative art projects, I enjoy sparking curiosity and imagination. Even simple moments like baking can turn into playful lessons. Explorative play helps kids grow socially, emotionally, and cognitively, and I find joy in creating safe, encouraging spaces where they feel free to imagine, discover, and learn through laughter and hands-on experiences whether inside or outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is growth, love, and meaningful experiences. I treasure moments when children take big or small steps forward, and I believe love and patience help them thrive in every aspect of life. Being present in their everyday lives whether through play, learning, or comforting them all builds lasting bonds. It’s more than care, it’s literally shaping many joyful and safe foundations for children and families. Knowing I contribute to their happiness is as meaningful as it gets for me.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve cared for children with autism and hearing impairments, focusing on patience, consistency, and creativity. For autistic children, I use routines and sensory play to help them feel comfortable and engaged. With hearing-impaired children, I adapt communication through gestures, visual cues, and a nurturing presence. These experiences taught me that every child thrives when their unique strengths are celebrated. Supporting them through growth and joy has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny memories will always be planning and executing birthday parties for the children I cared for. We invited friends from playdates, filled the day with games and laughter, and celebrated with cake and balloons. Seeing the kids’ excitement and joy as they shared the day with their friends was priceless. What made it so special was not just the celebration, but the sense of community and happiness it brought to the children and their families.

Babysitter Available in Brooklyn, NY: Veranika H.
Hi! My name is Veranika and I am a student at Cornell University pursuing Bachelors of Architecture degree. I immigrated to New York City from Belarus and have been living here ever since. I am an older sister, and I love working with children! Although I do not have any prior nanny experience, I was a secretary for an organization called "Future World Vision" that worked with Brooklyn Technical High School, my alma mater. I have supervised and worked with 10 middle schoolers (ages 10 to 14) in building, learning, and presenting their sustainable mini-house to a board of alumni and partnering middle schools. I am very excited to help anyone who is in need.
Babysitter Available in Brooklyn, NY: Jasmina J.
Hi! I’m currently a student and looking for a babysitting opportunity. While I don’t have official babysitting experience yet, I’ve always loved being around children and naturally connect with them very well. I’m very patient, caring, and energetic, and I enjoy making kids laugh, spending time with them, and being someone they feel comfortable around. I’m often described as having an “older sister” type of personality because I like giving advice, helping out, and making sure kids feel supported and safe.
Right now, during the school year, I’m mainly available on weekdays after school and more flexible on weekends. During the summer, I’ll have much more availability and be able to work more hours. I’m dependable, eager to learn, and excited for the opportunity to help families however I can!
