More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
With a couple years of experience in childcare, I’ve had the privilege of nurturing and guiding children through various stages of their development. My journey began as a part time babysitter for a wonderful out-of-state family, which deepened my passion for working with young minds. Since then, I’ve worked as an after-school teacher for K-5th grade, teaching literacy through theater and inspiring creativity in each child I teach. Currently, I continue to teach and babysit part-time, caring for children as young as 6 months to 11 years old. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment for every child in my care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a babysitter, I engage children in a variety of fun and creative activities. I love using interactive storytelling to spark their imagination and boost literacy skills, and I often organize themed craft projects to let them express their creativity. I also enjoy planning outdoor adventure games like scavenger hunts to keep them active. With my theater background, I incorporate drama play, helping kids act out stories, which builds confidence and teamwork. For younger children, I focus on sensory play such as finger painting, and I also use educational games to enhance problem-solving and critical thinking in a fun way.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable to fully develop and explore their creativity. It’s about providing a space where they can learn, grow, and express themselves freely, knowing they are supported and cared for. This foundation of safety and encouragement allows them to thrive both emotionally and creatively.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with special needs children primarily in the classroom, where I collaborate closely with special education teachers. I make it a priority to understand each child individually, learning their strengths and weaknesses to tailor my approach in ways that keep them engaged. Outside of the classroom, my babysitting experience includes working with children who have ADD, where I focus on creating structured and stimulating environments to help them thrive. My goal is always to provide support that is personalized, caring, and effective for each child’s unique needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when a child begged me to stay the night after their parents came home because we had such a great time together. Another special memory was a fishing trip to Central Park, where we finally caught the fish the child had been eagerly searching for over the past few weeks—seeing their excitement was priceless!
