More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I grew up babysitting for family and family friends. I also used to volunteer in our church nursery when I was younger. As an adult, I’ve continued to babysit for family and family friends as well as have helped raise my three wonderful godchildren. I also used to work for Connies before they mistreated my son and working there really showed me how happy I am to be with kids and to teach them!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing pretend with children. Seeing how their imagination and brains work is just really interesting and fun. It also helps you look at life differently. I also love doing arts and crafts so they can give their family and friends gifts but also learn things while doing so. If old enough, I also try to have them partake in cooking (safely, no heat or sharps) and cleaning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to me as a nanny and teacher is mental health! Mental health has been brushed off way too often for way too long. It is extremely important to instill in our kids with skills to help them figure theirselves out and allow them a voice and validation. It’s important to let them know it’s okay to be upset over something but to not allow it to take over their happiness and life. It’s important that they know that it’s not okay to take their anger or frustration out on others and to explore other options to get that anger out. Everything about their emotions and learning how to validate and moving on from them is so, so important. We have too many people walking this Earth with really sad and hurt minds, it’s time to change it.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t truly have much experience but I am used to caring for others from being a Home HealthCare Nursing Assistant. As long as I know what’s needed to be done, I’ll get it done. I also grew up with a great friend of mine who’s brother has autism so I have a little bit of knowledge pertaining to the care of someone with autism, but also, everyone is different so please make extra sure that I know everything I need to know to keep your wonderful child happy and healthy. Thank you!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments as a nanny is when the kids ask me to not leave because it lets me know that I’m doing something right and building a great relationship with them. I also absolutely love it when I teach my kids something and they come up to me a week or so later and they talk about that one thing that we learned together and all the things they remember about it.
