Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was given the opportunity to work with a class of 3rd graders during a school related camp. We made our own assignments and worked with each child to make sure that they understood what they needed to do, and helped them through any problem they had.
Growing up, I had 3 younger siblings. I would watch over them, and make sure that everyone was safe while we were growing up.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Doing art is a super easy and fun way to relax and get to know children. From experiences I've had, it's easier to talk when you don't have to stare a stranger in the eyes.
It's easy for me to play along with a scenario that a child comes up with, whether it's make believe, or doing something with various toys, I like being engaged with the interaction and making sure that they know that I'm paying attention and having fun as well.
Various games (board or video) are also easy to get into the groove of. It helps teach how each kid interacts and how they act when they get more comfortable. It's fun to connect over different things, and bridging the gap with games and such is helpful!

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part, is making sure that the child is safe. No matter the activity, their safety is the number one priority.
But after that, it's making sure that the child is heard and understood. It's hard to go through so many big emotions in such a small body, and the world is frustrating sometimes. Kids have only been around for so long, it's important to be patient and kind so they know that what they feel is truly important.

My experience with special needs children...
I've not had the opportunity to experience many instances with children with special needs, but I have the understanding that sometimes there are different accommodations that must be met. I'm flexible and always try my best to understand, listen, and care for those around me. Needing something that isn't deemed "normal", doesn't change that.
Children with special needs are still that, children. They deserve attention and understanding just like anyone else. Sometimes boundaries are just a little different, that's all.
