Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a private pre-school with ages ranging from 6 months to 6 years. I love working with younger ages (infants and toddlers) but I love to work with kids in general. I also was a nanny for a mom and her son, I watched him during the day when he was 12 weeks, and I did that for 4 months.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some things I enjoy doing with kids are coloring,singing, dancing, board games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and these activities are important because they all achieve some point of developmental skills and I think it’s important no matter the age range.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to have fun with the kids while also knowing that what you are doing with the can effect their motor skills and their core development, and being able to incorporate these skills into the fun without it feeling like a chore to the kids.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with a family with a 4 year old who had non-verbal autism off and on for about a year.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was with a 1 1/2 year old little girl. We were on our way to the park that was down the street from her house, and I asked her what mystic she wanted to put on and she wanted Elsa’s song. We sang that song on full blast together on the way to the park and I glanced back at her in the mirror and seeing her jam out was just so wonderful and I loved it!
