More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at an in-patient behavioral health facility for adolescents 13-17 with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. I also worked in a Crisis Stabilization Unit with sides for adults and children. I did lots of babysitting/nanny work for Care.com as well. My most current experience is with special needs/Autism as a Registered Behavioral Technician and utilization of ABA therapy.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love arts and crafts! I think it's a great way to get the brain working and it's also therapeutic for all ages. It's also great to improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Coloring, drawing, painting, cutting and gluing, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure my kiddos are safe is my #1 priority, especially since being a mom myself. I know that I would want someone watching my child who cares for them with the same love and attention I do. You can rest assured that I have mommy reflexes and am always prioritizing safety (and fun)!
My experience with special needs children...
I have 4 years of experience with children with Au/ADHD (partial verbal and non-verbal) and other co-occurring disorders such as low muscle tone, cognitive/learning disabilities, and assistant devices such as AAC/PEC systems.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Seeing my kiddos progress academically, socially, or learn new skills is my absolute favorite thing and is the best part of the job!
