In the summer of 2021, I worked as an assistant teacher at Starchild Academy. I would work 6 hours each day from April 2021-August 2021, with children from 1-10 years old. My day mostly consisted of creating well-rounded lesson plans, preparing snacks, and performing various developmentally appropriate activities with the children. These included music time, arts and crafts, outdoor play, etc.
In the summer of 2020, I was a nanny for a 2 year old girl from the months of March-May. I worked from 9 am to 3 pm.
During high school hours, I worked in the "Husky Pups" Early Childhood Education Program, where I was a lead teacher and also helped to manage the program. I earned my CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification, which means that I recorded over 480 hours working with and teaching children. I collected 45 hours of classwork with the Department of Children and Families. During this time I also earned my First-Aid and CPR Certification.
