Sarah
"Sophia was our summer nanny for three summers in a row. She was a wonderful employee and our children loved her. She was reliable, communicative, responsive, and very easy to work with. Our summer schedules were a bit unusual in that they shifted from week to week, sometimes day to day. Sophia was able to adapt and provide reliable consistent care for our children. She was a wonderful blend of spontaneous summer fun, mixed with get your chores done attitude. she was creative and collaborated with the kids to decide how they wanted to spend their summers, planning both long-term summer projects and last minute afternoon adventures. She was open to the children bringing along friends and was open to helping out another family who needed last-minute childcare. she was the envy of all of the working mothers and I give her my highest recommendation!"

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked in childcare for the YMCA starting in 2019 with their day care center. I started working for their after school program in 2020 and just recently finished there this past summer. I have also worked in my churches nursery. And briefly volunteered at a private school in Richmond, Virginia while I was at school there.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy playing soccer with children. I also enjoy any form of tag they can come up with. I also learned a lot of fun improv games that I enjoy teaching to kids and they always get a big kick out of them. I love to do all kinds of arts and crafts projects with any age. Making jewelry out of things we find outside is always a popular activities to do. I enjoy going on nature walks and spending as much time outside as possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is of course keeping the children safe. But also getting to be a part of their lives. Children are so important and precious and when you get to be a part of their world in any way, that is very special.
My experience with special needs children...
At my previous job with the YMCA during our summer camp, I worked with a few different children on the spectrum. I really enjoyed working with them and getting to know them and discovered great ways to communicate with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment would be when I was working with a two year old for sometime, about two months at this point. He was quiet and didn’t like to play or do anything other than be read to. I would be with him for a couple of hours every day and was slowly getting him to be more comfortable with me. One day I had a family emergency and couldn’t go see him. So when I saw him the next day he cried and hugged me really tight and said my name for the first time ever. It was so incredibly sweet and rewarding after all this work with him and knowing he finally trusted me.
