More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I would take care of my brother often and I would sometime watch the kindergarteners when my mother was a teacher. I would sometimes play with a friends younger sibling. I also have a twin sister so I have experience with teens(myself being one).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do arts and crafts and I love to read to kids. I like to hang out, outside or do other indoor activites.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important thing as a babysitter is to be able to understand kids even when they have a break down and cry you just have to know that there is a reason for them to be upset. Being able to teach them basic things and for them to be able to develop social skills or other things needed for when they are at school. Even just to have good memories for them to look back to when they get older.

My experience with special needs children...

I am and was friends with several special needs children and I myself have personal experience due to my ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was at a pool party and there were several little kids there and we had been swimming .Just having fun when one of the kids who was a 7 year old boy who I had been watching while the adults were chatting near by and he asked me to help him go to the bathroom. I thought he meant that he just wanted me to show him where the restroom was,but as I was about to leave he asked me to stay so I had to wait for him to finish until he was done. He was a very sweet kid and I don't mind when kids need help or need support. I remember when my mother was working as a kindergarten teacher a little girl would always want me to give her so much attention. So every time I came in for class she would either ask me to play with some toys or read to her. That is an amazing moment for me because I knew she just wanted to play, but she would learn how to read and write with me and tell me stories. That is why I wanted to become a sitter.

Debbie P. - Seeking Work in King George

Babysitter Available in King George, VA: Debbie P.

Hi, I'm Debbie! Caring for children isn't just work for me — it's what I was made to do.
My professional background is in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with degrees from Southeastern University and Capella University. I've spent years as a behavior technician and special education assistant teacher, working in schools, daycares, and one-on-one in families' homes — so I'm equally comfortable in a classroom setting or as a trusted presence in your own home. I've cared for children and individuals of all abilities, from as young as 2 up to adulthood.
I'm also a mom of three, so my experience isn't just professional — it's personal. I bring patience, structure, and genuine warmth to every child I care for.
I believe in screen-free, hands-on childhoods: arts and crafts, outdoor play, and real connection.
I live in King George, VA and am happy to travel to Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and surrounding areas within 30 miles.
