More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Preschool teacher 15 years. During that time I have worked with children of all ages but primarily 2-4 year old children. My duties included preparing a daily curriculum of learning, potty training when needed, caring the children’s physical and emotional needs all the while keeping parents informed of daily experiences in their child’s life. I have also been a Sunday School teacher to ages 7-16. I have two beautiful grown children and an 8 year old grandson whom I enjoy spoiling every chance I get.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love crafting with children! Nature walks to gather items for crafting. Reading. I’m a firm believer in reading to our children. Using imagination play for learning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Childcare isn’t just a job to me. It’s a place for a child to feel safe, loved and cared for when mom or dad can’t be with them. I will tell anyone, if you plan to get rich from caring for children you are on the wrong carrier path. Caring for children is a calling. Financially we all have needs but those needs do not have to be met at the expense of God’s precious gifts to us.
My experience with special needs children...
Have had many children in my care with Autism ranging from mild to severe. Have also worked with children who have been physically, mentally and verbally abused. No experience with children with physical handicap.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my favorite nanny moments are when I may see some of the children I’ve had in daycare and they run up and hug me and say they miss me.
