A little bit about me

I have raised my son & have 2 beautiful grandson (7yrs & 2 yr) I love so much. Along with a 3yr old great-nephew I care for when needed. I am dependable, fun, caring, patient & understanding. In transparency, I am someone who raised my son to be a gentleman, have manners, to be respectful of his elders & have some responsibilities. I was often told to "lighten up" children need to be children but also need structure along with the growth of family values, community, & faith. I was born & raised here in Charleston I love the beaches, playing board or outside games, most sports, crafting, cooking, baking and helping others. I worked many years in logistics & transportation industry and several in a medical office. I cared for my ill father & my mother-in-law with Alzheimer's while working in home health care. I'd have decided I would like to work with children and still have time for my family.

I have cared grandsons, and other family members and friends children when needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love adventures staying busy. Puzzles, crafting, sporting events or practice, roller skating, swimming, dancing sillly. I love the WII game system but cannot work an XBOX or Play Station. There's not too much I don't think I wouldn't do if asked
Except if it deals with reptiles or insects. I prefer not to touch, or be responsible for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

That I am there to help the family and children. We all agree on the boundaries, loyalty, respect, trust and requirements of why I am there. That everyone involved will be happy at the end of each day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a young girl in a wheel chair. Bathed, prepared meals, and we often play games, I paint her nails or we watch movies

The most important part about being a nanny...

Many years ago the young boy I was keeping wanted to learn to ride his bike without training wheels. He struggled wanted to give up but with a little practice at his own pace and a little help he learned! The joy was priceless.
