The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a baby is definitely building the connection you make with the child that you’re babysitting, especially if you’re going to babysit them over the span of a few months. If you don’t build a friendship then what’s the point of babysitting? It’s about the memories that you make overtime and it’s truly my favorite part of the job.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger sister who is autistic and who’s nonverbal. I help participate in her therapy sessions and learn from her therapist on how to communicate and handle situations if anything were to occur.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I remember when I was babysitting this little girl, she was about 7 years old. She came up to me and said, “Stephanie, my doll isn’t pretty”. I answered her back and said, “Why do you think that?”. And she said, “ because it doesn’t look like you, can we give it a hair cut and make it look like you?”. She smiled with that goofy smile that kids give you and it made my whole day. She was definitely one of the most sweetest children I’ve ever babysit!
