The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience and being a fun individual who listens and pays attention to the kids.
Being engaged in whatever activity the kids are doing (unless they prefer to play alone). Kids like having your attention because they think you’re cool, just because you’re an adult, so giving them that attention when they show you something or just in general, makes them feel heard and cared about.

My favorite nanny moment was when one of the toddlers I care for asked me if I was their friend. It was so sweet and it surprised me that this 3 yo knew what friendship was.
