A little bit about me

Former Elementary Teacher employed by DCPS for 20+ years. Kindergarten and First Grade are the grade levels that I mainly taught while employed by Duval County Public Schools. I also have raised two boys of my own which they are now successful young men:) Currently, I clean VRBO rentals and assist several retirees in the Jacksonville Beaches communities on a part-time/as needed basis. I am looking for a full-time position where the hours are relatively the same each week. I am flexible and always remain positive if unexpected changes occur. I live on the Southside of town in Jacksonville. I prefer to remain within 25 miles from my home. I am active, love being outdoors, reading, and dogs. (: I have three dogs of my own :)

I want parents to be able feel at ease while away from their child(ren). I think they will eventually in due time. They will see that I am actively engaging the child(ren) in age appropriate fun activities. In which, learning about culture and positive character will be addressed on a daily basis.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was teaching 2nd Grade, the Science Curriculum included a Unit: Lifecycle of the Butterfly (which included actually getting the eggs from a company and watching them going through the actual stages of the lifecycle). So the students and myself were very excited about seeing the progress each day and charting progress in our Science Journals. It was fascinating to see the students reactions and hear their thoughts on the day the Butterflies were released to outside world.
