The most important part about being a nanny...
Helping parents, as I remember what it was like to be away from my children and trusting that they were cared for and loved. My job is to ensure that the children in my care are respected, taught good family values/ responsibilities/ manners, and have fun-filled days that provide learning and allow their imaginations to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a background as a COTA and have cared for children on the Spectrum, young adults diagnosed with severe mental and physical diseases/challenges. I’ve cared for children in my home (special needs at home day care) including providing therapy for a toddler with CF, and another with a heart condition. I worked with a severely non verbal MR/CP little girl at a Charter school for a year until she was removed due to extreme aggression. I also worked for over 7 years with children and adults diagnosed with severe eating disorders at McCallum Place.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I could never pick one. I’ve cared for over 50 children in my life ( started babysitting when I was 11). Every child has a special place in my heart and has brought me immense joy. I have a great sense of humor (the little ones I currently care for call me ‘silly LaLa’). Giggles and hugs are my favorite moments shared with the children I have grown to love. I still have a decor/ hanging on my wall at home from a mom (her baby I cared for 22 years ago) that reads ‘You are a special chapter in our child’s life’. I feel privileged to have a “book” of chapters that are filled with special moments shared with so many sweet children and their parents.

Live-In Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in St. Louis, MO: Aleks E.
I have an extensive background in working with and supporting autistic youth and adults. I am a core member of my sister's care team and have 13 years of neurodiverse childcare experience. As I pursue a career in disability and accessibility work, I am looking to support myself while following my passion for working with youth.
I grew up on the East Coast and have a biochemistry degree with a disability studies minor from Connecticut College. I believe that youth, especially those who express themselves differently than what is considered "normal," are far too often completely invalidated and disregarded. Taking time to listen to their experiences and connect with them as individuals illuminates the often justified root of their reactions. Working with young people brings me great joy, and it is a privilege to connect with them.
