Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
i had an amazing opportunity to help with the big brother big sister of Utah group where we helped kids aging from 6-18 with clothes for school. I also work at a preschool 3 days a week which has increased my love for children and childcare.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
i love bring outside on nice days and even some rainy or snowy days. i feel that playing outside or doing anything outside is very important for kids. running around play tag or hide and seek is always a good time. For those days that aren’t as nice i like to draw and watch the kids imagination or even watch/help them create awesome legos.
The most important part about being a nanny...
i love working with kids. as a kid myself i had parents who were both school teachers so when i was home from school i had a nanny. she helped me grow up to be who i am today and i feel that nanny’s or babysitters have such a big impact on the child’s life and some people don't know that. I think the most important part about being a nanny is putting the child’s needs first, helping them making sure that they are taken care of and then of course having fun with them and spending quality time with them.
My experience with special needs children...
i have not had an experience with a special needs child while i was nannying but i had the privilege in high school to take a class called peer tutor which was a class where students worked with other students that maybe needed more help.
The most important part about being a nanny...
one of my favorite nanny moments was when me and this little 2 year old ran up to me when we were playing outside and he handing me a flower (which i’m pretty sure was a weed hahaha… still so sweet though) and said “here you go syd you my best friend”. it was the sweetest moment ever.
