More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a boutique fitness center in the kids corner in Clemson, SC from Aug. 2013-May 2014. I watched three to ten kids for an hour at a time. The average age of the children were 3months-3yo.
I volunteered with Girls on the Run for several years: an after school program to teach girls ages 8-13 about fitness and health.
I taught tap and ballet classes when I was in high school for preschool age.
I am currently a Court Appointed
Special Advocate volunteer in D.C.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Spending time outside, reading, exploring music, playing sports, legos, pretend. I like to integrate age-appropriate learning into play and encourage independent play and sensory exploration.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny for me is helping to facilitate a healthy childhood that will serve as the foundation for a joy-filled life. I center emotional intelligence and self awareness when around kids. I also focus on positive self-talk to help mold their inner voice.
My experience with special needs children...
I babysat regularly for twins with developmental (learning, speech) disabilities from birth to age 7. I've nannied for children with anxiety and children with autism to varying degrees.
The most important part about being a nanny...
How can I pick just one?! I love when my nanny kids teach me something, which happens every day. My 6yo girl nanny kid once said "that's not a good answer" when I told her my reasoning for turning off the iPad was "because I said so." This made me pause, put myself in her shoes and remember all the times adults said this to me as a kid and how it made me feel. So I changed my answer to explain how it was a nice day outside and our bodies needed movement and sunshine. She checked me on my own philosophy: to treat children as more knowledgeable and complex than we think they may be because they are sponges and are so much more observant than adults often give them credit for.

Part-Time Nanny Available in San Diego, CA: Mia T.
I am 25 years old and I live in Encinitas. My main job workload permits me extra time and I want to fill that with doing things that I love. I have been nannying since I was a little girl. I am innately a caregiver and get along with children very easily. I come from a family of five other brothers and sisters. My mom used to keep me home from school somedays when she was overwhelmed because I was always such a good helper. Some things never change! I am very OCD and will leave everything better than I found it. I look forward to letting you know more about me!
