A little bit about me

Hi all! My name is Sydney Kowalsky and I am from Delmar, New York. I am 20 years old and attend Cortland University! I am a sophomore! I also work as a server part time at a small local sushi bar and am looking to do this more, rather than serving. I love kids and although I have no “paid” experience I have babysat multiple times for young kids and early teens for family friends, and cousins. I grew up an athlete playing hockey, lacrosse, softball etc, therefore am active and do a great job keeping one’s I’m looking after entertained! I also adore animals, doesn’t matter what kind! I have my own vehicle and am willing to commute no farther than Lake George. I am looking mainly for part time summer work! I live in Canada in the summers, so I will be only available from early May when I finish exams to mid July, but have no other obligations during that time! As far as my serving job goes I would most likely be working 2 shifts a week to keep majority open for these gigs!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have done plenty of community service through my church parish hours. For example:
-I have made blankets for and with children
-Have gone to homeless shelters and organized food pantries with children
-Decorated the church with children
-Ran community barbecues with games that children would come and play
- taught children how to skate/would free skate with children

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to be outside! As I said in my bio I’ve grown up an athlete, along with 2 brothers!! We were always outside and very active! Basketball, football pass, frisbee, road hockey, and more were our favorites. Even manhunt, or tag! I find myself to be pretty creative so I like crafts too! I am very easy going so it’s really up to the kids! Whatever makes them happy! Of course, as long as there is no risk of injury or violation of safety.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To see a smile on the kids face. My goal in life always is to make sure everyone is having fun. Life is too short to be upset! I like to make the most out of it while we’re here, and there is nothing better than seeing a kids face light up with joy. Knowing once that I was that young makes me even more excited to give them a good time.
