I’ve worked as a nanny for multiple families, caring for multiple children at a time and helping manage their day-to-day routines. My experience includes preparing meals and snacks, planning activities, helping with schoolwork, transportation, outings, keeping children’s spaces tidy, and maintaining routines while creating a fun and comfortable environment. I’m also the oldest of five siblings, so caring for children has been a big part of my life both professionally and personally. I’m comfortable balancing the different needs, personalities, and schedules that come with caring for multiple children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love activities that let kids explore their interests and be creative! Reading is a huge part of my life—I read around eight books a month—so trips to the library and story time are right up my alley. I also love music, baking, crafts, being outdoors, going on walks, visiting museums, and finding fun little adventures that get us out of the house.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Creating an environment where a child feels safe, loved, understood, and free to be themselves. I also think trust with the parents is incredibly important. I want parents to feel completely comfortable knowing their child is with someone who is dependable, attentive, communicative, and genuinely invested in their well-being.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a younger brother with Prader-Willi syndrome, so I grew up with firsthand experience supporting a child with special needs. Being his older sister has taught me patience, empathy, consistency, and the importance of understanding that every child has their own individual needs, routines, and ways of communicating. It has also made me especially compassionate and comfortable meeting children where they are and creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, and included.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite part of nannying has always been reaching the point where the kids are genuinely excited to see me and I feel like part of their little world. I love learning each child’s personality, interests, and quirks and finding the things that make them light up. Those relationships—and knowing the parents trust me with the people most important to them—are what make nannying so rewarding.
