I'm a native born Texan with plans to move to NYC in the upcoming months. I'm an easy-going, sporty, and artistic caregiver. I enjoy spending my freetime with friends and family by visiting museums, going on long walks, trying new restaurants, and binge watching the latest television series. I like cooking, creating art, and practicing amateur hour on the guitar and piano. I have a passion for human rights and environmentalism, and I would prefer to work with a family with similar ideals, though certainly not a must.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with or volunteered with children since I was in elementary school. As a child, my family and I volunteered at a local baseball park working with special needs children and adults to play slow pitch softball. I also have been a volunteer in church nurseries. In high school I was a paid nanny for a pre-school aged boy, and occasionally babysat for family and friends, or people in their networks. In college, I volunteered with my soccer team helping out with the local youth sports teams, and I worked with Sporting Arkansas as a coach for children 5 and under. Most recently, I worked with children through my job as a Child Protective Investigator. My interactions were sometimes brief, and sometimes my duties required overnight stays with the children in need while waiting for their placement.

The most important part about a nanny is the children's safety and well-being, and meeting the needs of the family's requests. It is important that a child is prioritized and valued, and that their needs are met in a safe manner. It is the responsibility of a nanny to maintain the care above and beyond that a family wishes, and to prepare the children for the world.
