Building a strong rapport with the kids! As an RBT the first thing we do is have a 2 week pairing process basically just meaning for two weeks we engage in activities the child wants to do without placing any demands. This helps us learn each other while they begin to associate us with positivity, strengthening the possibility of a strong relationship!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with many medically complex kids including trach babies and etc so I am very comfortable around those kinds of things. I also have lots of experience with autism, and the visually impaired!
