More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a former educator (high school, 3rd grade). I have worked in a children’s church/afterschool program (6months-14 years old). Throughout my undergraduate years, I was the babysitter for members at the church (4 years old - 12 years old).
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Painting, cooking, arts and crafts, school work, exercising, reading, mentoring.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment where children feel secure, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. I believe every child deserves patience, kindness, and positive guidance, and every parent deserves peace of mind knowing their children are in caring, dependable hands. My goal is to build meaningful relationships with both children and families while helping children learn, grow, and thrive every day.
My experience with special needs children...
Throughout my years of being an educator, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching autistic, adhd, emotional behavior disorder, learning disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, bipolar disorder. These children may have disabilities, but I met them where they were, tailored my instruction to their level of receiving, and they’re just as smart as the average neurotypical child. I believe students with disabilities are capable of things when they’re focused and when they put their mind to what they’re striving for. I’m always here to listen, and support all children. Students with disabilities have a special place in my heart, and it has been an honor to have successful relationships with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments happened when I was caring for a little girl who was having a tough day and kept saying she missed her mom. We spent the afternoon baking cookies, reading stories, and making a "Mommy Welcome Home" sign with crayons and stickers. By the time her mom walked through the door, she ran over with the biggest smile, hugged her, and proudly showed off everything we had made together. Her mom later thanked me for turning a difficult day into a happy memory. Moments like that remind me that childcare is about more than supervision, it's about making children feel safe, loved, and cared for while giving parents peace of mind.
