More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting children from ages 3 months to 13 years old for the past 5 years. I nannied one young boy from the age of 3 months to the time he was able to go to preschool. I regularly babysat for a family of four kids (ages 2, 2, 5, 7 when I started) for 3 years before they moved. And am currently babysitting on occasion in my off time for a family of 3 (ages 3, 3, 6)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing all sorts of activities with kids, and I'm always finding new crafts and games to keep them entertained. I love reading books, playing make-believe, paying outdoor games, I have my own bag full of all kinds of craft supplies, and even supervising solo playtime when the kids feel like just doing their own thing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me it's making kids happy, and encouraging the closeness of a family. I enjoy nannying for singular families because, unlike a daycare, they get to be comfortable in their own home and if they have siblings they get to spend time with them and grow together and play together strengthening their sibling bond. It's important that kids have regular authority figures and regular rules, so if I get to know the parent and the way they parent and direct the kids and know their rules I can help keep that consistent instead of there being "parent rules" and "daycare/school rules."

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat for a sweet infant with down syndrome on multiple occasions and have many young friends with down syndrome I get to watch grow older and accomplish so much. I also have much experience accommodating allergies and being conscious of dietary restrictions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has to be every time I go to my kid's house and they ambush me when I come inside. It fills my heart with joy when I see how happy they are to see me and ready to get right to whatever they've been looking forward to doing with me once I arrive.
