More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Personally I’ve raised 4 daughters and been a volunteer in multiple programs involving children the last 30+ years. I worked in ophthalmology as a Retinal technician and surgical tech for 25+ years. I’ve hosted exchange students from Thailand, Japan, China, and Indonesia. I’ve helped families with young babies and families all the way up to young adults. I’m looking for the right family fit, the right situation, not a just a job.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Outdoor: hiking, biking, swimming, parks, museums, walks, orchards, nature exploration, large muscle movement, sports, I love soccer. I believe humans need to move each day, especially children.
Indoor: art, all kinds of art-I don’t mind cleaning up the messes, it’s so good for the mind. Fun exercise and games appropriate for the space provided. Cooking, I make it fun and incorporate science and culture. Rest when appropriate. Music, drama, reading and make-believe. Story telling, writing, and practicing gratefulness. Homework & chores when needed.
Following parental instructions and guidelines on how you want your children watched while you are not with them. It’s your family! I would just be here to assist your wishes.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The family. I’m looking for a mutual good fit not just a job. I’ll be patient until we find the right fit.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I taught a young boy how to make “power balls”. No cooking involved, they are packed with protein and healthy goodness. Attention spans are short so I knew I needed to make it fun and personalized. At the time he was experiencing trauma at home. I knew he was not having regular cooked meals. I sent him home with all the ingredients and new knowledge. I wanted him to gain a skill he could take home to feed himself. He brings up this memory each time I see him. Out of the 100 things we did together this is the one he recalls. I’m often surprised by what touches their hearts. Children know when they’re genuinely cared for. Children know when they are seen.
