More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a Jr. Lifeguard Instructor, and have taught swimming lessons. I operated my own Licensed In-home Daycare, and I have taught Vacation Bible school, Sunday School, After school and Preschool. Not a day goes by where I don't interact with children in some way; kids bring so much joy to my life ~:0)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

TEACHING!!!! Every moment is a teachable moment and it comes naturally to me. I love to introduce Arts and Crafts beginning in infancy, read stories with children, and act them out with props. We'll play dress up, build with Manipulatives, practice counting, tracing, language development, emotional regulation, drawing, finger play, singing, dancing, planting, indoor/outdoor games and physical fitness. Whenever possible I encourage children to enjoy the beach, and the park. I like to take them swimming, and I always give plenty of hugs and positive affirmations ~:0)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Of course, a child's safety is my #1 priority. I offer one-on-one attention to children; lots of nurturing and encouraging interaction so that they feel safe, and cared for. When children feel secure with their Caregiver a wonderful bond develops. Children are then able to learn and foster their self esteem in a safe, loving and low pressure setting. Children are the most awesome beings on this planet. And I am so blessed to be a part of their lives ~:0)

In the preschool setting; children on the Spectrum and a child with Downs Syndrome.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Every time a little one runs over to me happily and gives me a hug in the morning and at the end of our day, is my favorite nanny moment! Everything that happens in between is always funny, typical, unpredictable, endearing and rewarding as well!
