My name is Taryn Rooks. I recently graduated from Nursing School, and over the next year will be preparing for boards. I have experience with babysitting from the ages of 6 months to 15 years of age. I intend on working with children when I begin my career in nursing. I have a passion for working with children and would obsoletely love to have as much experience as I can get before I begin my career. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

While in nursing school, I watched 5 children all under the age of 12. the youngest being 9 months, twins who were 5 at the time, to the second oldest being 8 and the oldest child being 11.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing outdoor activities with children but I find learning activities to be extremely important while growing. Some of the activities I enjoy doing would include; zoo days, museums, parks, indoor games that allow children to have fun while learning, such as; scavenger hunts, areas and crafts, puzzles, books and so much more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is also being able to assist in the learning and growing aspect of a child's life. Nanny's are capable of making a huge impact on a child's life if they are willing to put in the work. I understand that children need nurturing, patience, discipline, communicative, reliable role models in their lives. This is also why I believe this job is so important, yet so rewarding at the same time.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much experience with special needs children. I would be more than happy to learn more to include this in my experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I originally lived in Indiana and I was watching two younger boys at the time who were full of energy. There was a 2 week period of nonstop rain and mud and indoor activities were not holding their attention well by the end of those 2 weeks. We finally had a warm, sunny day. So, we decided a water park day was absolutely necessary! I remember the older be having a large, COLD bucket of water poured straight on his head and instead of being mad or upset, He looked at me with the biggest grin and said, "This is the best day ever!" I mostly remember this experience because of realizing the joy children find in life.
