A little bit about me

Hello! I am attending Duquesne University for my Early Childhood Education bachelors degree! I will be graduated and certified in pre-K through 4th grade as of May 2025. I am passionate about curating a safe and loving environments for all children under my care, and want to provide everything their young minds need to flourish in this world. They are our future leaders! I have all updated clearances , as they are needed for my field work and upcoming student teaching experience. I have had 4 field experiences thus far, ranging from preschool age to 8th grade. I also have been working as a part time nanny throughout college and have loved this job. Post graduation I will be looking for a professional, full-time nanny job. I have my own car, am a non-smoker, will be certified and have my degree. Early Childhood Education degree, student teaching experience, teaching certification, 5 prior childcare/classroom field experiences, part-time babysitter from 12/23-current, part time after-school babysitter, and part-time summer babysitter!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

- Outdoor time! I believe that outdoor play based learning is the best way to allow children to explore, indulge in sensory play, while still challenging their minds and teaching them new skills. This can include walks, observing things we find in nature and collecting them to draw, sensory play stations with natural materials, chalk, etc
- Montessori approach to play, meaning that play can be used to learn and teach practical skills
- Waldorf based play, this includes using our imagination as much as we can! Fairytales and story telling, pretend characters, play kitchens, play cash registers, dress up and costumes, pretend plays and performances!
I like to blend both Montessori and Waldorf practices and activities to create a well rounded play and learning experience to keep the children stimulated throughout the day!

My experience with special needs children...

I was involved in my unified club in high school and was the captain of my high schools unified bocce team! "A Unified Club is an exciting program which combines students with and without intellectual disabilities to develop meaningful relationships, help spread acceptance and ensure everyone feels included and welcome in their school."

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I had a child ask me what I did for work! I didn't have the heart to tell her that my job was to watch her and I was getting paid for it, so I had to tell her I just worked on the weekends. it was heartwarming to know she just thought of me as her friend!
