I worked as an Assistant Teacher/Childcare Provider at ECEC, caring for infants through preschool-aged children in a classroom setting. I’ve also worked in YMCA childcare and have several years of babysitting experience for families, which has given me experience caring for children both in group settings and one-on-one in their homes.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love anything that gets kids creating, exploring, laughing, and using their imagination! Parks, nature walks, crafts, baking, dance parties, scavenger hunts, library trips, outdoor games, imaginative play, and little adventures are some of my favorites. I’m also a big fan of letting kids help choose what sounds fun. I love turning a normal day into something they’ll be excited to tell their parents about later! 😊
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is understanding how much trust a family is placing in you. You’re caring for the people who mean the absolute most to them, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I want parents to feel completely comfortable knowing their children are cared for, listened to, and supported when they’re with me. I also think being a great nanny means becoming a reliable teammate to the parents —communicating openly, respecting how they choose to raise their children, and showing up for their family in a way that genuinely makes their lives a little easier.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience is limited, but in high school I took a semester-long adapted PE class where I worked alongside students with special needs during physical activities and games. It was an experience I really enjoyed and one that taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, inclusion, and meeting each person where they are. While I don’t have professional special-needs childcare experience, I’m very open to learning and following a family’s specific care needs.
