Besides being a mom and step mom to 4 kids in total over the past 4 years, I have also done work at a daycare center. I have been babysitting my younger sibling and cousins since I was about 10 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing crafts with the kiddos, especially painting. I do small wood projects like building bird houses or racecars. If the weather is good, I like to take the kids to the park or the lake. And of course, I have to play pretend with the little ones. I also love to read to kiddos and often make up different voices for each character.
My experience with special needs children...
My brother has high functioning autism and I have helped with him quite a bit, however I do not have much experience with special needs children in general. I am very good at following instructions and learn easily though, so I feel very confident that it is not a task I would struggle with.
