More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I babysat for a couple years when I was still in highschool. I took early childhood education for 2 semesters where we got to teach and interact with 4-5 years olds. I also had an internship for a semester working with 12-13 year olds. Another internship for a semester working with 2nd graders. I have been working at a daycare as the lead teacher in our 2’s classroom for a little under 8 months. But I have realized that working with kids is one of the most rewarding things I have done and I would to continue it.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love imaginary play. I also enjoy teaching them finger plays to songs that we can see together. Making cute artwork for parents or even having time to free color so they can build their fine motor skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Even though I have not been a nanny before I think the most important part coming from a 2’s teacher is just being able to build those strong and amazing connections with the children you care for. Knowing if they scrape their knee on the playground that they feel safe enough to come to you when they’re hurt, sad, scared, etc.
My experience with special needs children...
I unfortunately do not have any experience with children with special needs.

When a child that did not speak at all when they first started in my class asked me for a sticker. I know it seems small but the fact that I have been with him through this journey of learning to talk really healed something in my heart.
Another thing is
When the kids that get dropped off are so happy to see you that they don’t cry when their parents leave. That is so rewarding as a daycare teacher.
