A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Tanya I have over 10 years of experience working with young children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. I currently work as a preschool teacher, where I help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.

I’m experienced with daily routines, meals, diapering, potty training, activities, learning through play, and supporting children’s social and emotional development. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, and I truly enjoy building a caring and trusting relationship with both children and parents.

I’m looking forward to bringing my preschool experience into a nanny setting and providing personalized, dependable care for your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes working as a preschool teacher for over 10 years, caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. My responsibilities have included supervising children, preparing meals, assisting with diapering and potty training, planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining routines, and supporting their social, emotional, and developmental needs. I have also provided childcare for family and friends.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging with children in a variety of fun and educational activities that support their growth and creativity. Some of my favorite things to do include reading stories together, singing songs, doing arts and crafts, and encouraging imaginative play. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as playing games, exploring nature, and helping children develop their motor skills through active play. In addition, I like incorporating learning into everyday moments, such as counting, colors, and simple problem-solving activities that make learning enjoyable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting, supportive relationship with a child so they feel safe enough to grow, explore, and gain confidence at their own pace\.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with and supporting children with special needs, and I enjoy engaging them in fun, educational activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities. These include reading stories with clear, supportive communication; singing songs with repetition and movement; and doing arts and crafts that encourage sensory exploration. I also support structured imaginative play and outdoor activities such as simple games, nature exploration at a comfortable pace, and guided active play to develop motor skills. In addition, I incorporate learning into everyday moments by practicing counting, colors, and simple problem-solving in a patient, encouraging way that makes learning accessible and enjoyable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was working with a child who was initially very shy and hesitant to engage in group activities. At first, they stayed close to me and watched others quietly. I built trust through gentle encouragement, sitting with them during circle time and reassuring them they could join when ready. We read picture books together and did simple crafts to help them feel comfortable.

Over time, I noticed small changes. During an outdoor walk, I asked what colors they saw, and they softly began pointing them out—“yellow… green… red flower!” Their confidence quickly grew, and they started asking questions and exploring more independently. Seeing their curiosity and confidence bloom was a moment I will always cherish.
