A little bit about me

I am 66 years old. I had a daycare for over 30 years. I have taken care of children of children. I taught my own curriculum and each child was kindergarten ready. I am currently working with special needs children but would like to transition back to single family care. I am very hands on. Babies are my specialty and I have been called the the baby whisperer. I have changed over 150,000 diapers and that should represent some type of dedication. I am reliable and I am a child advocate in every way. I have many references and I love my job. My biggest reward is when each child reaches his milestones. Watching children grow and learn is what I love to do.

I was a paraprofessional for several years. I also worked with child care services that provided child care returning from Germany. (military families). I owned my daycare for 30 years. I have had many experiences working with children in different environments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love all activities. We color, paint, read books. I like to use playing as a teaching tool. You can teach gross motor and fine motor skills and have fun too. Building with blocks is another thing I love to do with the kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

You have the most amount of time with the children. It is very important to nurture and love each child individually. I love the connection I get from seeing the kids learning and growing. I take pride in the fact that I contributed to that.
